Cities grow in a bottom-up manner, leading to fractal-like urban morphologies characterized by scaling laws. The correlated percolation model has succeeded modeling geometries imposing strong spatial correlations; however, the origin of underlying mechanisms behind spatially growth remains largely unknown.
